Education Not Segregation

At Labour Conference 2016, Angela Rayner announced Labour's major campaign, 'Education not Segregation', opposing the Tories' plans to open new grammar schools.

On Saturday, Sandwell councillors and labour activists were out on West Bromwich High Street letting residents know about the campaign and collecting signatures for the petition.

The Tories would segregate our children by opening new grammar schools: a privileged education for a few, a second class education for the rest. And they are extending their plans into higher education, by hiking student fees and scrapping student grants, cutting opportunities for the many.

The Tories' education policies are failing children and parents. While they obsess about school structures and new grammar schools, school budgets are falling, there are chronic teacher shortages and not enough good school places.

Every child has potential. Every child can succeed. If you agree that no child should be left out or left behind, sign our petition opposing the Tories' divisive education plans
