Changes to the way people register to vote mean around one million people will be taken off the electoral register this year. In addition, the changes will also have major consequences for the redrawing of parliamentary boundaries, which are set to begin next April and will be based on the number of people on the register.
This Saturday is the Labour Party’s national campaign day on voter registration. The aim of campaign is to identify people who haven’t registered to vote and to motivate them to register.
We’d like you to join us on Saturday morning at 10am until 12 noon, meeting at Terry Duffy House, Thomas Street, West Bromwich, B70 6NT.
We’ll be sending teams of volunteers out with names and properties of local people who aren’t on the register, in order to sign them up.
We always want as many people as possible to be able to vote and it’s particularly important for next year’s local elections.
